I’m delighted to announce that Dr. Zhivago, The Musical, with music by Lucy Simon and lyrics by Amy Powers and Michael Korie -currently playing in Brisbane, Australia through July 31st- garnered 7 nominations in the 2011 Helpmann Awards (Australia’s equivalent of the Tony Awards).
The nominations were for Best Musical, Best Direction of a Musical (Des McAnuff), Best Male Actor in a Musical (Anthony Warlow), Best Female Actor in a Musical (Lucy Maunder), Best Male Supporting Actor in a Musical (Martin Crewes), Best Female Supporting Actor in a Musical (Taneel Van Zyl), and Best Choreography in a Musical (Kelly Devine).
The Awards will take place on August 1st 2011, at the Sydney Opera House.
